The user or &lsquo;co-designer&rsquo; was allowed to modify Assa&rsquo;s designs by choosing colours, adjusting shapes and adding elements from a library of parts. When finished, their CODO could be ordered through the platform for manufacturing.&nbsp;<strong style=""><em style="">&ldquo;</em></strong><strong style=""><em style="">It&rsquo;s time to empower the masses. was also a success&nbsp;show casing new lamps,  lights and shades presented in a series of illuminated environments.  While&nbsp;some of the other exhibitors included: Boca do Lobo, Carpigiani  Gelato University, DassaultSyst&egrave;mes, Designersblock, Dezeen Studio  Powered by Jambox, Fabrica for Italian Chair Design, Flux, LEFF  Amsterdam, Lorenz, MG Lab, Molo, Objekten, Portugal Brands, SodaStream,  Stefanel, TokyoBike UK, Trumpf and TUMI.<br /><br />The week was packed with  daily events and talks. Some of the events that took place included:  &lsquo;SCP Upholstery Workshop,&rsquo;where visitors were invited to&nbsp;make an  armchair using fully sustainable upholstery techniques; &lsquo;Design Your Own  Gelato,&rsquo; gelato workshops delivered by masters from the Carpigiani  Gelato University; and &lsquo;La Cura,&rsquo;Studio Toogood's intimate performances  that provided an environment to rebalance the senses and recover from  the busy Salone.<br /><br />We look forward to more great projects by and with Tom Dixon. After the workshops the crowd heard from a range of inspirational stories from people with amazing lives and projects.<br /><br />After lunch, Digital Forming's Managing Director and CEO Lisa Harouni featured in the Near Futures session. This session&nbsp;explored near future technologies, and innovations that will happen in the next 5 years and change the way we live, do business, love, learn, play, and interact.<br /><br />Harouni dazzled the crowd by explaining the benefits and implications of 3D Printing &nbsp;and mass customisation for both businesses and individuals.<br /><br /><span></span>The <a href="http://liftconference.com/">Lift Conferences</a> are a series of events built around a community of pioneers who get together in Europe and Asia to explore the social implications of new technologies.
